Grand Homes Design Trends

When you purchase a Grand Home in it’s early phases you have the opportunity to customize any thing from stone/brick and cabinetry to  flooring and color schemes.  This is one of the services that makes buying one of our homes truly unique, and it’s one of our customers’ favorite parts of the home-buying process.  Because the Design Studio appointment is such a valued experience for both our customers and us, we decided to find out more about it.

We recently made a visit to our Design Studio to talk to some of our Consultants about what finishes and features our customers were selecting.  With the plethora of options to choose from,  we wanted to know what was most popular among granite and tile, wood and carpet and so on.   What did we discover?  Our customers have great taste! Here is a little recap of our findings. :)

For tile accents and back splashes, we found that a lot of people were drawn to small scale mosaics with intricate detail and a little “sparkle.”  Many are selecting a more modern color palette of subtle gray tones, but there is still a demand for vibrant, less- traditional color schemes.

We found that most chose a mosaic that would compliment their granite and cabinetry choices for a more finished look in their kitchen.  These two granite choices are quite popular due to their neutral yet complex color palettes.

For flooring, many are choosing to have a combination of hard and soft surfaces underfoot.  The most popular wood tone is a rich mocha stain that people want carried throughout their main floor.  For the bedrooms and other upstairs living areas a soft, plush, neutral-toned carpet seems to be the most desired choice.

There you have it! Just a few of the many design choices that seem to be trending among our customers.  For more information on our Design Studio please visit our website, and for more information about the options seen here and more, feel free to stop by and preview our Design Studio during their weekend Open Houses.
