The HOPE House is officially complete! Last Thursday afternoon we held the Dedication Ceremony and Luncheon at the HOPE House homesite in Little Elm, TX. Due to chilly, overcast weather the ceremony was held indoors, but it allowed for a more intimate and congregated setting perfect for celebrating the completion of such a thoughtful home, and for honoring all of the tremendous work Grand Homes and its’ trade partners accomplished in order to help those in need. It was great to see all of the support for the completed project as several members of the community, city delegates and vendor reps came out for the event.
Our honored guest panel of speakers was made up of Jack Nulty, Executive Director of Homes for HOPE; David Hillock, Mayor of Little Elm; Joe Chamberlain, President of the Dallas Builders Association; and Stephen Brooks, President and CEO of Grand Homes.
The highlight of the day was not only being reminded about the number of lives that are changed from the sale of one home (20,000!), but the moving support expressed from members of the audience during an impromptu “open-mic” that occurred after the organized speaking portion.
Several volunteers came forward to express why they believe in this type of charity, and why they will continue to work with Grand Homes and Homes for HOPE on future projects to continue to benefit those in the community and around the world. It was truly great to see how proud everyone was to be part of such a great cause.
This is the forth home Grand Homes has built for Home for HOPE, and to-date they have donated $706,113 (!) to HOPE International and its affiliates. Grand Homes has intentions of continuing to build HOPE Homes well into the future in order to continue serving this cause.
This home is a 4 bed/3 bath equipped with a upstairs game room and private guest suite. The home also features beautiful hardwood floors, vaulted ceilings, stainless steel appliances, granite slab counters, and a cast stone fireplace. The home is currently on the market for $299,611. You can see photos of the interior of the home here.
The profit of the sale will be used in the provision of micro-loans to entrepreneurs in impoverished countries to help lift themselves and their families out of poverty. See more of the amazing work HOPE International does here, and Homes for HOPE here.
