The Downton Abbey is a five bedroom plan (with a sixth bedroom option) that features a jaw-dropping double curved staircase at the entry, customizable LifeSpace that can be used as a private study or guest suite with full bath on one side of the house with living and dining rooms on the opposite side. Once you cross under the magnificent staircase you’ll find yourself in the vaulted family room. You’ll love huge windows that allow for plenty of natural light and you can stay warm by the gas fireplace in winter.
The open floorplan allows for an easy transition from the family room to gourmet kitchen which boasts granite slab countertops, built in stainless steel appliances, a gas cooktop and an island/breakfast bar. Also, underneath the stairs you’ll find a wine room with a wet bar that will be perfect for a housewarming party! When designing the rooms downstairs, our interior designer, Jill Noble, credits Ralph Lauren Home as her inspiration with the master bath being her favorite room in the house due to the “wow factor.” This luxurious retreat boasts an oasis drop in tub with separate shower, separate his and her vanities and double doors to the huge walk in closet!
Upstairs, you will be able to look over the family room from the gameroom which dead ends into the cozy media room. From the gameroom you can choose to add a loft that will connect to a hallway leading to three bedrooms. This home was definitely designed to entertain. Inspired by the Ritz-Carlton upstairs, Noble used a combination of stylish, contemporary furniture, vintage pieces and classical wood to create a lounge-type ambiance in the common areas. Each bedroom was designed with a different theme – surfing using weathered surfing artwork, trendy-prep with hanging initials and chevron print bed clothes and vintage cars with the front of a car driving through the wall and real working headlights!
When decorating your own home, Noble advises to, “always consider the function of the room before choosing statement pieces.” Her favorite statement piece in this model happens to be the large oval dining table in the dining room. This table happens to seat eight to 10 people, perfect for a large party or having the family over for dinner. “The room is large enough to hold the piece along with a buffet, something you don’t find often outside of a custom home,” she says.
