Yesterday was a very exciting day here at Grand Homes. Not only was it the final day of Grand College sales training, but sales associates and office staff were able to come together for a very important cause. Special guests Jack Nulty, Executive Director at Homes for Hope, and Leah Rutt, the daughter of Hope International founder Jeff Rutt, joined Grand Homes for a check presentation.
During yesterday’s presentation, Ms. Rutt explained how her family would donate food and medical supplies in Ukraine before they decided they wanted to help in a way that would make a lasting difference. This is how HOPE International came to be.
Homes for HOPE is an arm of HOPE International that works with home builders to facilitate and encourage the construction of HOPE Homes. What makes HOPE Homes special is that the labor, materials and services are donated or discounted in order to increase profit. Profit from the sale then goes towards the provision of microloans to entrepreneurs in impoverished countries so they can start or expand their own small businesses. This enables business owners to earn a steady income to support their families and eventually rise out of poverty.
The home sale that allowed Grand to make this donation was built in the Frisco Hills community in Little Elm. This is the fourth home Grand Homes has built with Homes for HOPE. Our fifth HOPE Home is currently under construction at Chadwick Farms in Fort Worth. For more information on our latest Home for Hope visit grandhomes.com or call our Chadwick Farms sales office at 682-237-7515.
Grand Homes is proud to be a part of this life changing opportunity and is extremely grateful for our amazing trade partners who helped make this effort possible. We could not have done it without them!
The HOPE House is officially complete! Last Thursday afternoon we held the Dedication Ceremony and Luncheon at the HOPE House homesite in Little Elm, TX. Due to chilly, overcast weather the ceremony was held indoors, but it allowed for a more intimate and congregated setting perfect for celebrating the completion of such a thoughtful home, and for honoring all of the tremendous work Grand Homes and its’ trade partners accomplished in order to help those in need. It was great to see all of the support for the completed project as several members of the community, city delegates and vendor reps came out for the event. (more…)
Little Elm, TX— Grand Homes and the Home Builders Association of Greater Dallas invite members of the community to attend a dedication celebration of their fourth Home for HOPE. The dedication ceremony will take place on Thursday, April 4th from Noon until 1 p.m. at 14117 Sparrow Hill, Little Elm, TX 75068.
The charity home has been built by Grand Homes as part of their new Frisco Hills community, at the edge of Little Elm and Frisco, just south of 380, at FM423 and Gibbs Rd. Grand Homes’ trade partners – subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants – have donated or discounted their labor, materials, and services to help secure a large donation upon the sale of the home. The donation from the sale of the home, priced in the $290,000s, will benefit HOPE International, a microfinance network dedicated to alleviating world poverty by providing financial services for impoverished families. The house can be purchased by contacting the sales manager at the Frisco Hills location at 469.400.0200. Grand Homes and about 50 Subcontractors are building a home in Little Elm that will raise $200,000 for a charity that provides small loans for entrepreneurs in 12 of the world’s poorest countries.
Stephen Brooks started Grand Homes with a loan from a lumber company.”They gave me a hand up, not a hand out,” says Brooks, the CEO of the large Texas homebuilder.
So it just seemed like paying it forward when Grand Homes and about 50 subcontractors joined forces to build a home that, when sold, will raise about $200,000 for HOPE International. This charity provides small loans to entrepreneurs in a dozen of the world’s poorest countries. (more…)

We’re back with another quick update on the Hope Home in Savannah, TX. The home has come a long way and is nearly complete! The last time we checked in the home was in the middle of the bricking phase, and most of the interior finishes had not been complete (see more on that here). But, now we’re in the home stretch and things are looking good:
As you can see the house itself is complete. All there is left to do is finish the soding and landscaping, build the fence, lay the carpet and clean the interior for the new homeowners. These final steps will take 2-4 weeks to complete then the house will be 100% done!
Needless to say this will be our last progress update until we return for the final post about the finished home and the dedication ceremony with HOPE International- so stay tuned for that!
In the mean time you can visit our website for more information about the purchase of this great home, and you can visit HOPE International’s website for more information on the wonderful work they are doing to end global poverty.
We’re back again with a quick progress update on the Hope Home in Savannah, TX just to keep you guys posted on whats been going on. We’re also previewing a short video (featuring Grand Homes CEO Stephen Brooks) on the great work HOPE International is doing with builders and their trade partners by building locally to end poverty globally. So be sure to check that out at the bottom.
The last time we checked in the home was really coming together with the framing, siding, and roof completed (see more on that here). But now were getting to the really fun part: the brick! There is still a lot of work to be done, but doesn’t it look good so far? The men have done a great job to make sure the brick is completed in a timely and accurate manner.
Other than landscaping and paving, this is one of the last processes done to the exterior to the house to get it ready for move in. So from here on out most of the updates will be on the interior of the house. That’s when all the fun details like flooring, lighting, fixtures, and appliances go in. So keep a look out for real estate listings and check our website regularly for details about purchasing this home, and being part of a great cause. The sooner this house becomes a home, the sooner we can help those who are truly in need. Here is the video that further explains how homes like these are making a difference:
